Makai Recreation Center
The Makai Recreation Center offers ongoing weekly classes and is also available for private parties and functions. New students may start at the beginning of each month.
Weekly Classes
These classes are continuous classes; registration is open, stop by the front desk for more information.
- Karate - Okinawan Kempo Karate focuses on self discipline and student development.
- Mondays and Wednesdays
- $45 per month
- Children ages 5 and older
- 5 p.m. - 6 p.m.
- Tae Kwon Do - Victory Martial Arts focuses on a combination of combat technique, self-defense, exercise and philosophy.
- Tuesdays and Thursdays
- $40 per month
- Children ages 5 and older
- 6 p.m. - 7 p.m.
- Piano - Piano Lady School of Music - Classes are designed for children and include piano, guitar, flute, cello, clarinet, French horn, recorder, saxophone, trombone, trumpet, tuba, ukulele, viola and voice training. Please call 808-926-0250 for class dates and enrollment.
- S.T.A.R.S. on Stage - Theatre classes will help students learn about theatre production, stage presence and set building as well as an original production. Visit www.STARS-info.com for more information.
- Dance - Dance Movement Academy - Young students will learn dance basics and fundamentals in ballet, tap and jazz. Pre-teens will focus on fitness and fun with tap, jazz and lyrical ballet classes. For details, contact Ms. Di via email, dirodin@hawaii.rr.com or phone, 808-479-3273.
- Hula & Tahitian Classes - Basic Hula Class is offered to ages 5 to 18 years old. $75 a month per student. Classes will be held 6 - 7 p.m. every Friday (no class on major holidays). Tahitian Class is offered to ages 5 to 18 years old. $75 a month per student. Classes will be held 6 - 7 p.m. every Monday (no class on major holidays).
